Um, you do realize this is an EX-JW site, right? We've all this heard before, some of us all our lives before we extracted our minds from this nonsense. There are plenty of good reasons we don't believe anymore, so simply pasting from old Watchtower articles isn't anything we haven't heard before, and already considered at some point during our exit. Since you obviously can't think for yourself and won't listen to counter-arguments, why don't you at least come up with something original to sermonize on (oh wait, I forgot, you can't think for yourself).

No, they wouldn't change anything for you; they can't go off script (thus the read, question, parrot format). Your being there would lift everyone's spirits, however, and you would be mobbed by smiles and handshakes, all hoping to briing you into the fold--in a good congregation, anyway. In some cases, you might just get a few suspicious glances and a greeting from an elder or servant to let you know that they're watching you, while the rest shuffle into their cliques or about their normal, dreary routine.

HILARIOUS Game: Who Said It, Dr. Doom or Yahweh?
by DarioKehl inspecial thanks to the guys at the ask an atheist podcast for inventing this!
below is a list of quotes borrowed from this link:http://lotsoftinyrobots.blogspot.com/2012/07/yahweh-or-dr-doom.htmlyou have to guess if they're from the evil dr. doom (of the fantastic 4 comics) or yahweh, god of the ot.
since both are fond of speaking in third person, their names have been replaced with "steve".

does the watchtower still believe this?
by lastchance inquestions from readers ?
some animals have characteristics that seem especially suited to killing, such as lions and poisonous snakes.
how can this be, if they were all vegetarians at one time?l.

I never bought into the whole vegan animal line of thinking, either pre-flood or even in Paradise, and would often get into arguments with others over it. The clincher was always sealife: there obviously isn't enough seaweed and kelp for all the ocean life so they HAVE to eat each other. At that point, they'd either concede or go into ever more ridiculous thinking ("well, fish don't count" "Why not?" "Because people can't see them kill each other so it wouldn't disrupt Mankind's peace.")

Here is the definition of "conscience matter" to a JW: If you have a strong, good conscience you will see shunning/blood/ect. as a concrete rule and, in fact, should even take it a few steps further, if you're really rightous that is. You CAN go against the WT recommendations but that means you're conscience is weak, and you're weak, and God is now sad (and expect some "strengthening" from the brothers).
Saying something is a conscience matter is exactly the same as the emotional blackmail standard "if you really loved me you would."

Thieves will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
by Paralipomenon inbut they sure can avoid getting bored to death by it.. i was going through some old memory boxes i found this:.
i picked it up while i was still considered a good witness and knew enough to hang onto it.
later when i was trying to fade, i would show up a bit late to the convention and pin this on.. it's amazing what you can get away with having one of these pinned to your suit.. i would show up at lunch, say hello to the people in my congregation and they always asked where i was sitting.

Not only did we have easy-to-forge paper badges in Alaska, but we only got them for the DC so even legitimate attendants at the CA and SA would either reuse their DC attendant badges or print off their own little homemade badges just so they could wear their little "attendant" title.

How Christian thinking was corrupted by Paul's clever explanations
by Terry inwhen modern writers, thinkers, believers in christianity talk about their religion they are almost always depending on saul of tarsus (paul) rather than.
jesus.. there is a good reason for this.
paul wrote letters.

Nice write-up. I enjoy how you break things down and reason instead of just putting out huge blocks of text. Paul's takeover of Christianity was one of the first things I noticed when I started reading and reasoning on my own.

ninja_matty69: "How do they factor in whether 5000 years is really 6 rings in every 5 years as oppose to 6 rings every 6 years? This can put you out by 1000 years. What if its two rings every year?."
Well, I'm sure there's a way (I'm not a dendrochronologist so I don't want to speak out of turn, but they do have very sophisticated equipment and techniques; it is a science, after all, not a backyard hobby as you seem to think) but here's how they know that they didn't miss that many:
C-14 dating independantly comes to the same date range on that wood. So if you wonder how many double-ring years might have been missed, the C-14 will give you that margin of error.

My diety communicates through dreams (how else would you explain these visions during my sleep?!) and his/her lastest divine message has something to do with not being prepared for a wedding, and not wearing pants or something. And it was 11 years ago, but people were dressed like the '70s. I think my diety must've drunk dialed this one, 'cause it didn't make much sense.
